Stunning collectable wooden Jizai Kagi that hang over a traditional Japanese Irori (sunken hearth), which was used for heating homes, cooking meals, and providing lighting pre gas/oil/electricity.
This one likely being from the mid to late 1800s judging by its patina and the fact modern examples tend to have more intricate designs and details.
In overall good condition with really beautiful patina, small scuff to one of the top fins and a crack underneath.
