Beautiful Rosewood Sideboard by Gianfranco Frattini for Sorgente Dei Mobili Arosio Brianza Italy C.1960
'Gianfranco Frattini (1926–2004) was an influential Italian architect and industrial designer. Born in Padua and based in Milan, he studied under and worked with Gio Ponti. He co-founded the Association of Industrial Design (ADI) in 1956 and created iconic mid-century modern furniture and lighting for brands like Cassina, Artemide, and Knoll.'
Exceptionally beautiful high-end Rosewood sideboard with details that truly stands out! Rosewood veneer on all of the outside panels and what appears to be Cedar wood inserts in all of the drawers. Raised on 4 metal legs. A total of 6 drawers, each with a very distinctive shaped handle that can be found on several pieces designed by Frattini during the 1960s.
Overall good restored condition with a few scuffs and marks as can be seen in the images. Repair to the lower right back corner, can be viewed on image 8.
Two original makers mark labels can be found on the piece, one on the back and one underneath.
