Stunning Vintage Leather Armchair by Jacques Charpentier for Roche Bobois France C.1970
'Jacques Charpentier (1918–1986) was a French decorator and designer who graduated from the prestigious École Boulle in 1945 and founded his Paris-based workshop soon after.
His prolific career in the 1960s and 1970s saw him design bold furniture and lighting pieces using materials like stainless steel and leather, often associated with the Space Age aesthetic.
Charpentier collaborated with prominent firms including Flat International and Maison Jansen on interior design projects.
His studio employed nearly sixty staff by the end of the 1970s and continues to be recognized for its craftsmanship and innovative design.'
Beautiful double stitched leather finish with metal base and fully working wheels that allows the chair to be moved with ease.
Makers mark present and the base holds the original rubber support straps, all which are fully intact.
The chair is in very good condition, some minor wear and patina consistent with age.
